Sudan, Ethiopia, WFP sign tripartite memo of understanding in food assistances

Sudan, Ethiopian and the World Food Programme on Thursday signed a tripartite memo of understanding in transporting last batch of sorghum donated by Sudan in support of the neighbouring Ethiopia.
According to the memo, the quantity estimated at 25, 000 tons was handed to WFP for delivery.
The memo was signed Foreign Ministry Undersecretary, Rahmat Allah Muhamed Osman, Ethiopian Ambassador to Sudan and the WFP Regional Director.
Sudan made the offer because it appreciates the food crisis in the Horn of Africa due to severe climatic situations, said osman.
The Ethiopian Ambassador meanwhile has commended the grant and Sudan’s notable role in the region.
WFP Regional Director has welcomed Sudan’s support, saying the WFP is ready to transport the assistances though all possible means.
The same crisis was discussed by President Al Bashir and Somali President three days ago in Khartoum where the two sides ought effective measure to aid Somali people stricken by desertification
